Cross Stitch

Its been many years since I completed a cross stitch, but in light of the Webshots website closing down, where I had some photos of past completions I decided i'd put them up in here instead to keep as a memory & to remind me that I have indeed completed Cross Stitch before lol

Completed: 7th January 2004!!! Finally! Only 10yrs in the making!!!

Completed: 22nd March 2004! This was a Bookmark Kit from Stitches & Spice ( www.stitchesandspice.com.au ). I decided not to do the whole thing, as I want to frame it like this. It should have had butterflies at the top & bottom as well as shown.
Completed: 17th April 2004. Fabric: Permin Linen 18ct, Mountain Mist. This is the first time I have used Linen for Cross Stitch. Also the first time I have used SSS threads. I enjoyed the threads, although I'm not too happy with the colour fabric as the word "except me" is rather hard to see. (Looks worse in this scan pic lol)
Completed: April 2004. Recently bought Multicoloured Anchor threads & wanted to try them out with these easy charts. They look really good & I'm happy with it :o) Again, not sure what magazine this is from, but can find out if you'd like to know.

Completed: April 2004. This is the same chart as the other one with the same name. I just tried to use a different coloured thread than the one the chart asked me to use. Not sure if I like it as much. The blue gets very light in some parts (the words mainly) & it loses its effect. I still loved doing it though. Again, not sure what magazine this is from, but can find out if you'd like to know.
Completed: April 2004. It said to use DMC 666 thread, but I recently got some multicoloured threads, so wanted to try them out. I'm happy with it :o) Again, not sure what magazine this is from, but can find out if you'd like to know.
Completed: 4th June 2004. Very easy to do. I think it took me about 6hrs all up. Now just have to find a card to put it in! (Which has been difficult so far!). Got this chart from Cross Stitch Crazy Magazine, early 2004 mag (can find out month if someone wants details).

Completed: 5th June 2004. This is the first XS I did for my Partner. I got a book out of the library called "Cross-Stitch Designs from China". Partner is mad about anything Chinese, so he had a look through the book & liked this. Very small & easy - took about 1hr.
Completed: 7th June 2004. I made this card in about 5hrs after getting an email from my mum to say that my Nana was in hospital. It will be the 1st XS that I have ever given away/done for someone else. It is also the 1st time I have mounted a XS into a card. Got instructions from a magazine. Think I did alright :o)

Completed: 20th June 2004. I stitched this for my mum after hearing she had hurt her knee & was in a brace from hip to ankle for 1 week. I didn't get it finished in time, but she is going into hospital soon, so will give it to her then. This is my first time adding beads (for eyes). It said French knots, but I got impatient getting them right! Looks good this way tho!
Here is a picture of the card I made for my mum. This is the first card I have made that I have to make it myself. Previous ones have had the hole cut out, this one, I had to do myself. I'm very proud of this one :o) I wanted to find a stamp that says Get Well Soon, to put on the front, but haven't found one that I like yet... so will have to do without.
Completed: 21st June 2004. This is my first Freebie Kit off the front of a magazine. Have the mount from the kit & will look for a frame to display it in. Was lots of fun to do while watching TV at night times! hehe
Completed: 22nd June 2004. This is the 2nd XS I did for my partner. Comes from the same book as "Shou"; (above). "Cross Stitch Designs from China". By Carol Phillipson.

Completed: 29th June 2004. This is my second Freebie kit from a magazine. This was much harder than Eeyore (see above freebie kit), as it had ALL the white in it! Was harder to do while watching TV, but I am very happy with the final result. Now just need to frame it!
Completed: 12th August 2004. From the Lizzie Kate Snippet Collection #S42. I am going to make this into a cushion. It will be my first "different" finish that I have done - besides framing & putting in a card. Will post a photo when finished completely!

Completed: 11th September 2004. This was a Freebie kit from "World of Cross Stitching" Magazine. Issue#86 (Jul 2004). I used beads for the eyes, instead of French Knots. Eyes look a bit wonky. Think that was just the scan.
Completed: 13th September 2004. Freebie Kit from UK CrossStitcher Magazine. Issue#: 124. August 2002. Yes, I know it is an old magazine hehe. I think I won this magazine on Ebay, or I did a trade with someone in a Group. :o)

Completed: 13th September 2004. Freebie Kit from "Cross Stitch Crazy" Magazine. Issue# 28. December 2001. Yes, another one that is very old. Yet, it is another one I swapped for in a trade :o) The little red things on the wreath are meant to be French Knots, but I used Mill Hill Petite Beads instead. I like it :o)
Completed: 1st October 2004. I did this at night times during a trip to Sydney during lots of hospital appointments. Didn't take very long as you can see there are not many colours!

Completed: 17th November 2004. From Bent Creek #: BC415 This was rather fast for me to complete. It was meant to use WDW threads, but I do not have any of them. So I used the alternate option given on the chart - DMC. Looks a bit bland, as WDW would have given it a shady look. But I'm happy with it !

Completed: 26th November 2004. This is a cute elephant that I downloaded from www.cross-stitching.com - they have lots of freebie charts to download & this... well I just fell in love with the cute little innocent elephant hehe. He's very small though, & I don't have any cards on me, to frame him...so to be continued!

Completed: 30th November 2004. This is one of my latest Xmas Cards, I downloaded the design off www.cross-stitching.com a few years ago. It is not on the site anymore unfortunately. This was really easy to do & so cute & fun!

Completed: 16th December 2004. Got this magazine off Ebay a month ago & fell in love with Newton ;o) I started him after my last one in November, so was rather easy. The blue stitching was rather boring to do, but it needed to be done :o) Think I'll frame him.
Completed: May 2006. Finally got this completed (with the help of Nat - who finished the last bit of it!). Hope to frame it in the next week or two. Then it will be ready to give to my Hubby's niece for her 2nd birthday! Design from: 'UK CrossStitcher' Magazine. Issue#: 148 June 2004

Completed: 27th March 2005. This is for my Mum for Mother's Day. Will hopefully get a stamp that says Happy Mothers Day to add to the bottom of the card (explains the big gap at the bottom of it hehe) Design From: Cross Stitch Quick (UK) Magazine. Issue 12, April 2004.
This never got completed, but it was my first tapestry I did. My father bought a boat & it needed a lot of work done to it, so we would go & spend the weekend around the boat working on it. This was something to keep me busy. I'm pretty sure it was around the age of 5 when I did it :o)
Completed: possibly around early 90's. Possibly 1992? It was one of those small kits that say next to the counter at the local craft shop & when my mum would be buying fabric or something, I would beg for a kit :o)
Completed: possibly around early 90's. Possibly 1992/3? (Was done after the Mouse, I remember that, because the Mouse was the first of these kits I got & stitched). It was one of those small kits that say next to the counter at the local craft shop & when my mum would be buying fabric or something, I would beg for a kit :o)
Kit # 86326. This was one from the series "Charmables" This is completed, except for some charms that came with the pack & I've obviously lost them over the years. It should have 4 or 5 small hearts underneath the cat/ above the writing. I am currently looking for something similar to what it should have & then I will finish it. Stitching was completed in 1993. I got it from my half sister for Xmas in 1991.
Completed: September 1996 I think. It was for my Father's birthday ... Obviously I never gave it to him lol. Maybe next year!? Chart from "Whale Watch" from The Coach House Series. Leaflet#: 856. Donna Gallagher, Creative Needlearts Inc.
Completed: September 2003. Framed: January 2004. Isn't looking too good at the moment as I want to have padding in it.
After my Dad passed away in May 2005, his partner was sorting thru his personal items & came across this card that I had made him for Christmas. I have no idea what year it was done (possibly early 1990's perhaps?), but I will never forget the look on his face when I gave it to him.
